My Approach
Life can be hard sometimes and having a compassionate, safe and understanding environment to process those difficulties can be life changing. I hope to provide a therapeutic space that offers not just a safe and understanding environment, but a place that allows you to have an experience that promotes personal growth.
When it comes to the population that I specialize in, it is with both adults and children. I have assisted individuals process depression, anxiety, grief and loss, career/employment concerns and life transitions. I have worked with school aged children, as well as individuals who have a severe and persistent mental illness diagnosis.
Providing a positive experience in a therapeutic setting is very important to me. I strive to end the stigma around receiving mental health treatment. You matter and what you are going through matters, and I want to provide an environment that promotes personal growth, self-love and compassion.

Experience
For the last 10+ years, I have worked in the mental health field in a variety of roles. Most of my experience is in community mental health. I have experience working with at-risk youth in a day treatment setting and in a school setting as an elementary school counselor. I also have experience working with individuals who have a diagnosis of a severe and persistent mental illness on an Assertive Community Treatment Team (ACT) and Individual Placement and Support, Supported Employment (IPS-SE). Other experience includes working as a Trainer and Consultant for UNC Institute for Best Practices where I provided training and consultation to IPS-SE teams across the state of North Carolina. Also, I have worked for several years on a facility based crisis unit, providing therapy to individuals who are being hospitalized for mental health concerns.
