My Approach

I believe that we have all experienced challenging situations or have felt lost at some point in our lives. Taking the leap to seek additional guidance and support takes courage and vulnerability and I believe it cultivates our growth and well-being. Together we collaborate to examine thoughts, emotions and behaviors that are holding you back in your life and identify new tools and solutions that will move you toward a place of worthiness, purpose and authenticity to meet your personalized goals. My approach to counseling involves providing a safe, supportive, and collaborative environment where expression can take place and awareness and growth can be explored through understanding and non-judgmental interactions. I utilize an integrative approach combining Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Mindfulness, DBT, ACT and relational therapies to build upon your strengths, identify life solutions, develop resilience, create healthy and meaningful relationships and cultivate self-acceptance.

    I hold a Masters Degree in Counselor Education from North Carolina State University (2007) and a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology from State University of New York College at Brockport (2004). I am a National Certified Counselor (NCC) and I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in North Carolina.

    I have over ten years experience working with adults and adolescents in individual and group counseling settings. I have worked with clients in a variety of settings including hospital, residential, and outpatient settings regarding grief & loss, anxiety and panic disorders, mood disorders, depression & post-partum depression, burnout, anger management, stress management, eating disorders, chronic pain & illness, substance use, addiction, personality disorders, trauma, abuse, domestic violence, life transitions, self-esteem issues, and relationship and family related concerns.
