Many of the people who sit across from me are carrying something heavy and doing it quietly. Some have tried therapy before and found it moved too fast for what they needed. Others have never said any of it out loud.
I am an Army veteran with two deployments behind me. I retired in 2013, spent a decade in HR, then trained as a counselor. I understand what it is to carry something while everyone around you assumes you are fine.
My work covers trauma and PTSD, ADHD, and gender identity, with pre-teens, teens, adults, and couples. I have a particular commitment to service members, veterans, and first responders, and to making sure LGBTQIA+ clients feel known rather than explained.
During sessions, I take my time and dig deep. Trauma work done fast tends not to hold. I draw on Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), collaborative therapy, Brainspotting, and Cognitive Processing Therapy, but the method matters less than getting your world right first. Once I understand it, we can name what matters to you and steer by it.

If you're carrying the weight of trauma, whether from military service, first responder work, or life in general, I want to help you process it and find your way back to joy. I specialize in trauma, holding a certificate in Trauma from Lenoir-Rhyne University alongside my master's in Counseling. I bring 9 months of hands on experience using Brainspotting, plus training in Cognitive Processing Therapy, to help you work through what you've been through.
I work with adolescents, adults, and couples, and I move at a slow, deliberate pace so you feel truly heard and understood, never rushed. As an Army veteran (3rd Infantry Division, Operation Iraqi Freedom and Operation New Dawn), I have a particular passion for supporting service members, veterans, and first responders. If you're part of the LGBTQIA+ community, you'll find me knowledgeable, informed, and affirming.
