WHAT WE OFFER
-

Individual Therapy
You don't need to be in crisis to benefit from therapy. Sometimes you know exactly what's wrong. Other times, you just know something isn't working the way you want it to.
Our individual therapists work with adults and adolescents navigating anxiety, depression, trauma, ADHD, grief, relationship challenges, stress, and major life transitions. Depending on what you need, your therapist may draw from approaches including CBT, ACT, DBT, EMDR, ERP, and IFS.
With offices in Raleigh, Durham, Chapel Hill, and Garner, Third Wave offers individual therapy throughout the Triangle, plus online therapy across North Carolina and in additional states based on clinician licensure.
You don't have to know what kind of therapy you need before you start. We'll help you find the right therapist and figure it out together.
-

Couples Therapy
Even strong relationships can get stuck. Our couples therapists in Raleigh, Durham, Chapel Hill, and Garner help partners improve communication, work through conflict, rebuild trust, navigate major transitions, and feel more connected, whether you're in crisis or simply want your relationship to feel better.
Couples therapy at Third Wave gives both partners space to feel heard while learning new ways to understand and respond to each other. Our clinicians draw from approaches including Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) and other evidence-based relationship interventions based on your needs.
Couples therapy is offered on an out-of-pocket basis, with in-person appointments across the Triangle and online therapy available in North Carolina and additional states based on clinician licensure.

Adolescent Therapy + Parent Coaching
Being a teenager has never been simple. Anxiety, ADHD, friendships, school pressure, identity, family dynamics, and the sheer amount of noise they're navigating can make these years feel like a lot, for teens and their parents.
Our adolescent therapists in Raleigh, Durham, Chapel Hill, and Garner work one-on-one with teens navigating anxiety, depression, ADHD, social challenges, academic stress, identity, and major life transitions. The goal isn't to “fix” your teenager. It's to give them a space where they're taken seriously, can better understand themselves, and build skills for what they're facing.
For younger children, we often work with parents instead. Our parent coaching helps parents understand what's driving challenging behavior, respond more effectively, and create meaningful change at home. Parent coaching can also support families of adolescents when parents need guidance of their own.
Adolescent therapy is available in person across the Triangle and online throughout North Carolina, with telehealth available in additional states based on clinician licensure.
-

Family Therapy
Sometimes the problem isn't a person. It's the pattern everyone keeps getting pulled into.
Our family therapists help families improve communication, work through conflict, navigate major transitions, and understand each other differently. Whether you're navigating parent-teen conflict, changing family dynamics, grief, divorce, or simply feeling disconnected, family therapy can help you find a better way forward together.
Third Wave offers family therapy in Raleigh, Durham, Chapel Hill, and Garner, with online family therapy available throughout North Carolina and in additional states based on clinician licensure.
