You can be successful, capable, and the person everyone relies on and still have parts of your life that aren't working.
I work with adults and couples who are used to functioning at a high level but may be struggling underneath it. That might look like anxiety that never shuts off, depression or mood changes, substance use that has become harder to manage, trauma that continues to show up in your life, or relationship patterns you haven't been able to change.
My approach is direct, practical, and evidence-based. I use EMDR to help clients process trauma and experiences that continue to feel stuck, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) to help you get clear on what matters and make choices aligned with those values, and approaches including CBT and DBT to build tools you can use outside of therapy.
I also work with executives, business owners, leaders, and other high-achieving professionals navigating pressure, responsibility, performance, and the reality of having a lot of people depending on them.
Therapy with me isn't about nodding along or sugarcoating. It's a place for honest conversations, practical strategies, and the opportunity to show up without having to perform, lead, manage, or have the answer.
You can be doing well in life and still want your life to feel better.

I bring more than a decade of clinical and leadership experience across private practice, inpatient behavioral health, substance use treatment, community mental health, and higher education.
Before joining Third Wave, I led Assertive Community Treatment (ACT) teams serving individuals with severe and persistent mental illness, provided therapy and substance use treatment to adolescents in foster care, and worked as an inpatient therapist providing individual, group, and family therapy.
My experience also includes working with military populations in inpatient substance use treatment and with the NC Department of Health and Human Services supporting individuals navigating mental health and substance use concerns.
At East Carolina University, I helped develop and co-coordinate the Navigate Counseling Clinic. My research and publications have focused on substance use disorders, process addictions, and military populations, and I have presented my work to both professional and community audiences.
At Third Wave, I have spent more than nine years as a therapist, clinical supervisor, and clinical leader, and now serve as Executive Director.
