Doctorate Level Therapist | nancy@3rdwavetherapy.com | 919-886-4052

Many of the clients I work with are navigating major life transitions, high levels of responsibility, or the long-term effects of stress, loss, or trauma, and they’re ready for meaningful change rather than endless processing. They want clarity, perspective, and practical direction, not just a place to vent. They are thoughtful, capable adults looking for focused, experience-driven support.

With more than 35 years of experience as a licensed psychologist, I bring a steady, grounded approach to therapy. My background includes over two decades as a forensic evaluator at a state psychiatric hospital, along with many years running a private therapy practice. I have also trained and mentored clinicians and served on healthcare committees and professional boards, experiences that allow me to work comfortably with complexity, responsibility, and high-stakes situations.

I work primarily with adults navigating work-related stress, work-life balance concerns, career transitions, anxiety, depression, and trauma recovery. I also bring specialized experience supporting individuals through grief and loss, interpersonal challenges, and complex medical or neurological transitions, including brain injury, stroke recovery, and disability management.

My approach is strength-based and solution-focused. I am thoughtful, direct, and practical, and I believe therapy should help you move forward, not stay stuck. Whether we are addressing stress, trauma, or a major life transition, my goal is to provide a supportive and collaborative space where you can identify what matters most, build effective strategies, and create lasting, meaningful change.
