Sara Price, LCSWA

Therapist | sprice@3rdwavetherapy.com| 919-886-4052

Sara is thrilled to join the Third Wave Team. Her career has been shaped by a deep commitment to people and learning. After a career working across public schools, national nonprofits, and philanthropic organizations - including Charlotte Mecklenburg Schools, Chapel Hill Carrboro City Schools, North Carolina STEM Learning Network (a Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation-supported initiative developed in partnership with the State of North Carolina), Teach For America, and Virtue Labs - she has developed a reputation for leading with empathy, clarity, and curiosity. Relationships are the foundation of her work; she is known for listening closely, supporting others generously, and building environments where people feel seen and valued.

Sara's therapeutic approach is person-centered with a solution-focused orientation. Her style is highly relational, with priority given to rapport-building through genuine curiosity and compassion.

When she's not working, Sara is usually outdoors or creating something with her hands. She loves gardening, tennis, fly fishing, and wandering beaches or forests in search of shells, driftwood, sea glass, and other artifacts. Her home is rarely without a craft project in progress. Sara lives between Durham, NC and Truro, MA with her partner and their dog. She treasures the joy her family and friends bring to her life. Sara holds a B.A. in Elementary Education and Art History from Wake Forest University, a M.A. in Developmental Psychology from Columbia University and a M.S.W. from University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
