Therapist

My Approach

It is my belief that the foundation of therapy is a safe, supportive, and collaborative environment between my clients and I. I recognize the vulnerability it takes to reach out for support, and I am determined to customizing treatment to meet each person’s needs. In customizing treatment with my client’s, I draw from Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and Acceptance Commitment Therapy principles and techniques. In sessions, I work with individuals to develop insight into their behaviors, improve coping, and address unhelpful and unhealthy patterns of thought. Additionally, in working with clients presenting with eating disorders, I work to address body image distress, understand patterns related to engaging in disordered eating behaviors, alongside identity development to create a life worth living outside of the eating disorder.

Most recently, I was employed with Veritas Collaborative, a specialty hospital for the treatment of eating disorders offering inpatient, residential and partial hospitalization. I worked with adults, children and adolescents along with families and communities of support utilizing Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Family Based Treatment (Maudsley Method) and Acceptance Commitment Therapy to address and reduce eating disorder behaviors, begin work on achieving body acceptance, and challenge distorted cognitions.
