Therapist & Counselor

My Approach

Pain is inevitable but suffering is optional, as the old Buddhist saying goes.

All of us will experience difficulties in the course of our lives. It takes courage to be vulnerable and face them. But those moments present a huge opportunity to learn and grow. I think counseling can help, and even be transformative.

Clients see me for a broad range of things, from depression to life transitions to relationship issues. I am committed to creating a safe, supportive holding space for sitting with feelings, exploring things that come up, and making meaning out of whatever you are facing. I approach things collaboratively and intentionally, and see myself as facilitating the pursuit of your goals. We might consider things like habits of mind, family history, or emotion. But I generally try to work from a behavioral framework. And I try to help people live with courage and imagination, and see themselves as free to make choices that improve their lives.
