My Approach

My passion is working with clients to navigate through difficult seasons in their lives. I create a safe and non-judgmental therapeutic atmosphere for a client to resolve their conflicts and embrace their true selves. I strive to work together with clients to invite tools and interventions for coping as well as letting go of things that may no longer be serving you.

I specialize mainly working with children (4+), adolescents, families, and young adults who struggle with relationships and attachments to family members and peers, children presenting with external behaviors, and clients who have experienced previous or ongoing trauma. I work with, but not limited to, clients with depression, anxiety, trauma, attachment, dysfunctional family systems, grief/loss, LGBTQ+ community, life changes/adjustment, and ADHD.

Combined with my background in yoga, mindfulness and clinical interventions, I provide a holistic, person-centered approach to healing the self. My clinical therapeutic approach includes, but is not limited to, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TFCBT), Play Therapy techniques, Theraplay techniques, mindfulness-based interventions, expressive arts therapy, Acceptance and Commitment therapy (ACT), and solution focused methods.

For the past 14 years, I have been dedicated to working with children and adolescents in several different environments including private home care, community-based care, and recreation. In 2013, I received my 200hr yoga certification which has become an integral part of my counseling practice, utilizing a mindfulness based practice. While I was receiving my graduate degree, I worked at a Therapeutic Residential Boarding school for adolescent girls struggling with trauma and stressor related disorders as well as attachment disruptions. Here, I also completed my internship working with therapeutic modalities of CBT and Theraplay through a developmental lens. After completing my masters, I began working in community based mental health as a School Based Therapist with elementary school aged children, adolescents and families.
