My Approach
The choice to enter therapy is one that is not lightly made. I take this into account in the development of the therapeutic relationship with individuals who are looking to improve coping skills, gain insight, and improve relationships that lead to an improved quality of life. I believe that individuals are innately strong and resilient, but sometimes need assistance in uncovering these qualities. Whether it is difficulty adjusting to a new life course or feeling lost in the depths of depression and anxiety, I am here to provide a safe place for self-exploration.
As a clinical social worker, I provide a holistic and collaborative approach. I have experience and training in working with individuals experiencing anxiety, mood disorders, perinatal mood disorders, relationship issues, and difficulty adjusting to life events. Your experience is unique and therefore therapy will be tailored to meet your wellness goals. I draw from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Motivational Interviewing, and solution-focused approaches.

Experience
My experience has allowed me to work with individuals throughout the lifespan in various settings. After graduating from VCU’s Social Work program, I provided individual and group therapy to older adults in culturally-diverse senior centers in the Northern Virginia area. I then moved to Raleigh and worked in a community-based agency providing therapy to children and their families. Later, I provided clinical assessments and individual therapy at a walk-in community mental health clinic in the Raleigh area. As a clinician in private practice I strive to continue to grow and learn and have completed advanced training in perinatal mental health through Postpartum Support International
