My Approach
One of the realities of life is that we all have issues – mental wellness matters. Whether the issues faced by you and members of your family occur at home, school, work or in the community, I am here to help. I am a trauma informed Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor (LCMHC),and Licensed Clinical Addictions Specialist (LCAS).
I provide individual, family and group therapy. Partnership is key: I partner with individuals across the life span to figure out what’s working well, what needs adjustment, and explore strategies that fit the unique needs of the current circumstance. I am skilled in motivational interviewing, solution-focused, play therapy and cognitive behavioral practices.
Know that I sometimes give homework assignments that involve self-reflection, watching movies and reading books. So much can be learned through witnessing the experiences of others via books and movies.Ph.D., Counselor Education, College of William & Mary, Williamsburg, V.A.
