Meet Tom Parkes:
I specialize in the treatment of Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD), Anxiety related issues, and Trauma/PTSD with adults and teens 14+. I approach therapy in a way that is more than just talking, but highly experiential, present-centered, and focused on making change within and outside of session. Many of our wounds are relational, so establishing a secure and healthy therapeutic relationship is at the foundation of my work. I aim to cultivate a space where you feel unconditionally supported while also being challenged in a direct and kind manner. I use holistic and evidence-based therapy methods grounded in processes of mindfulness, acceptance, compassion, and values-based exposure techniques. I have extensive training in the evidence-based therapy model, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) which helps individuals drop the struggle with their suffering and build a meaningful life.
